I just got my ears pierced but in four weeks I have a game and your required not to wear any jewelry. Could I take my earrings out for a couple of hours or will the hole close up. I can’t use tape to cover them up.
honestly, no one can give you a for sure answer on whether they will close up or not.. it depends on how they will react. personally, it took me about 4 tries to make my holes permanent. i tried leaving them in anywhere from 6-12 weeks, would take a shower & then they would be closed up. i recently got them re-pierced a year ago, left them in for 6 weeks, and they’ve been fine ever since. i can actually go weeks without earrings now. my best advice would be that if you absolutely cannot wear band-aids or anything over them, then take them out once you get to the gym and put them on immediately after the game is over. the holes may start to close, but you can push the earring through the healing skin. i would also recommend turning them and putting the cleanser on them at least 3 times a day so that they don’t hurt coming out
hope this helps.
I had the same problem. I had goten my ears pierced on monday and then I had a game very saturday. now it’s been 2 years and they never closed up! what I did was take a little box or plastic biggie. and put my earrings in it right before a game. and put them back in my ears right after. It works fine and your ears will not close up. Hope this helps!
5 minutes and the will close, wear band aids over them.

i had this same problem….
if it is only for a couple of hours then it should be ok.
just to be safe you should take out the earrings minutes before the game starts…..wait until you are at the field/court/arena (whatever it is) until you take them out….
then put them back in as soon as the game is finished
good luck! (:
