Sexy Lady asked:

Do they teach you how to make clothes, jewelry, shoes, bags, etc? Or only clothes?

Design has alot of catagories, so when you go to a school ( after you have researched whether it is right for you and your interest) you will then go into a “Specialized” program under the Design Degree.
    So you can be:
    Fashion Designer= Clothing
    Millinary Designer = Hat
    Shoe Designer = Shoes
Accessories Designer= Belts, scarves, hangbags, etc
Jewelry Designer= Costume and Fine Jewelry

and there is a whole lot more…it just depends on where you intrest lie…of course you can be a clothing designer and still do hats or something else, and alot of schools require you to take a certain amount of electives so that gives you a chance to take a class in another area of interest……
Good Luck and just do a little research into what you want to do!

Yes, in fashion school they teach you how to make what you are most creative in making. They teach you to create for the fashion industry, so you can have the skills to hopefully start your own line someday.

making jewelry is a whole other major. so is shoemaking.
